Here’s a cool event hosted for Geeks of all ilks. If you’re not sure if you’d feel comfortable here, you should be okay–at least it’s not a Renaissance Fair. I saw those photos… wow. Comic geeks are way easier to hang with than wiry-haired weekend druids and their witches.

Director D.W. Griffith is largely responsible for many of the storytelling techniques we know in modern film. The amazing part is he had to figure much of it out through trial and error. His award is one of the most highly covered awards to filmmakers. This film’s epic Babylon scenes were the inspiration behind the construction of Hollywood’s Hollywood & Highland complex. This silent epic is a real piece of filmmaking history.

All 238 minutes (that’s 4 hours for you high speed article skimmers) of this classic will be on display, including an INTERMISSION. Kudos to the Celebration chain for adding classics to their multiplex schedules. After a toe in the pool last year, they’ve given each film in the fall lineup a week’s run with multiple showings.
