Bridges Out of Poverty’s Getting Ahead Club will hold a 15-week class beginning Sept. 18 at the Vandalia Village Hall.

Bridges Out Of Poverty is a class that works with 10 to 15 people from the community to help them understand their current circumstances.

The class then shows them their ideal situation and how to build the resources to arrive there.

The class also discusses things like causes of poverty and the hidden rules of the middle class. Each participant receives $10 per week to attend the class.

Classes are held once a week and last two and a half hours. A meal is provided at the beginning of each class.

The class is made up of people from the community trying to understand their situation, Getting Ahead graduates and volunteers from the community willing to help the class through a variety of topics.

Our Father’s Family Keeper Ministries will provide childcare in the John B. Cooper Youth Building adjacent to the village hall, located at 18035 State St.

Classes begin at 5:30 p.m. To join, call Sister Bianca May at (269) 476-1257.
