The Ready Theatre still isn’t ready to open for good, but it will open for one special night during the Myrtle Beach International Film Festival (MBIFF).
Shari Higgins, event coordinator for MBIFF, said the film festival would hold an after party at the partially restored Ready Theatre from 8 p.m. to midnight Sept. 14.
“We love the character of the building,” Higgins said.
Entertainment will include Steve Otto, an Elvis impersonator out of South Haven; appetizers, drinks and prize drawings.
Tickets to the after party are limited and can be purchased for $10 at mooretheatres.com or at Wonderland Cinema in Niles.
You also gain access to the after party by purchasing a $50 all-access pass to MBIFF, which runs Sept. 12-14 at Wonderland Cinema and Sept. 19-21 at Michigan Theatre in South Haven.
More than 30 independent films will be shown during the festival. Movies are shown in two-hour blocks and single-block tickets go for $10.
The Ready Theatre opened in the 1920s and has been dormant since the mid 2000s.
