The Edwardsburg wrestling team grappled its way to a pair of victories against Wolverine Conference rivals Comstock and Coloma at home Wednesday night.

The Eddies came out swinging in the first match beating the Colts 55-18 even after spotting Comstock 12-points on two forfeits.

“Our effort was the difference for us tonight, we matched up well against these teams and they really left it all on the mat,” said an elated Eddies coach Mike Higley.

As well as they did against Comstock, the Eddies performed even better against Coloma winning 69-6 with all but two of Edwardsburg’s victories coming via pin fall. The Comets six points came from an Eddie forfeit at 135-pound.

Edwardsburg will returns to the mat at Maple Valley High School for the Maple Invitational Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m.
