A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Union Christmas Eve.
Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports his office is investigating the 6:30 p.m. Monday vehicle/pedestrian crash.
A vehicle driven by Franklin Strawser, 68, of Constantine, was eastbound on U.S. 12 near Union Road when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway.
The sheriff identified the pedestrian as Lori Wilkes, 42, of Jones.
Porter Township Ambulance, assisted by Oslo Ambulance, transported Wilkes to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind., where she was reported in serious, but stable, condition.
Alcohol and speed on behalf of the driver do not appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
