BUCHANAN — The Buchanan boys basketball team took the first step toward repeating as Lakeland Conference champions Friday night.

The Bucks defeated visiting Bridgman 49-28.

Buchanan led 10-3 after one quarter and 25-8 at the intermission.

Things didn’t get much better for the Bees in the second half as Buchanan held a 25-20 advantage in scoring.

Justin Henderson had 12 points for the Bucks, who also got nine points each from Dallis Reynolds and Doug Freeman.
