PLAINWELL — The Dowagiac boys cross country team defeated Edwardsburg at the Wolverine Conference Quad hosted by Plainwell Tuesday.

The Chieftains defeated the Eddies 20-37, but lost to Allegan (15-49) and Plainwell (16-47).

Ben Thompson led Dowagiac with a 13th place finish and a time of 20:20.

The Chieftain girls team lost to Edwardsburg (17-46), Allegan (18-39) and Plainwell (15-50).

Holly Luth finished 13th for Dowagiac with a time of 23:52.

“We ran against some talented teams today on our conference’s toughest course,” Dowagiac coach Ken Jordan said. “Our girls were shorthanded, which made the task even tougher. Effort was good though and we are looking forward to our Rock-n-Run meet on Thursday.”
