THREE RIVERS — The Dowagiac cross country teams were swept by host Three Rivers and Vicksburg at the Wolverine Conference Triangular Tuesday.

The Wildcats defeated the Chieftain boys team 17-46, while the Bulldogs won 15-48.

The Dowagiac girls lost to Three Rivers 19-39 and to Vicksburg 15-49.

Ben Thompson finished ninth to lead the boys team with a time of 20:13. Christina Preston was also ninth in the girls race with a clocking of 24:05.

“Three Rivers is always a tough course and tonight was against two pretty good teams,” Dowagiac coach Ken Jordan said. “Our kids ran very hard with some solid performances despite missing several girls. Ben Thompson and Christina Preston had excellent races on the hilly course.”
