The board of directors of Volunteer Southwest Michigan, a nonprofit organization based in St. Joseph, announces as part of its restructuring “Going Forward Plan” a new organizational change.

The change consists of two part-time positions to co-manage the organization: a chief operations officer and a chief program officer.

“There is a trend in the re-organizing of volunteer organizations to split the responsibilities between two highly qualified individuals who will co-manage,” board president Michelle Kerns said. “We are creating our new structure after this model.”
