Adrian Martinez’s third goal of the young season made a winner out of Dowagiac soccer Wednesday.

Martinez snapped a scoreless tie in the 65th minute off an assist from Tony Solas as the Chieftains edged visiting Bridgman 1-0.

Dowagiac outshot Bridgman 13-12.

Paul Lamphere had 10 saves for the Chieftains, while Jackson Kamp had nine saves for the Bees.

“It was even closer than yesterday,” Dowagiac coach Mike Williams said. “Bridgman was a better team than LMC, but we were not as unlucky tonight. Both teams had trouble getting off shots because of the play of the defenses. The game was won at midfield.”
