The Dowagiac Elks Junior Golf League had to endure some tough weather conditions this summer.

With temperatures soaring into the high 90s and even the low 100s, the program was able to draw 40 golfers and wrapped up successful 14th season with its annual tournament and awards luncheon recently at the Elks Golf Course.

This year’s age division winners were Colin Casey, Jonathon Brooks, Nate Gillesby, Megan Davis, Greta Whitaker, Mikey Symonds, Lane Francis, Ryan Gillesby, Tyler Bjogum, Chris Symonds, David Brogan and Alyssa Eblin.

The league received help once again from the members of the Dowagiac boys golf team, many of whom got their start in the program.

“I want to congratulate all the golfers who participated and thank all the volunteers who helped make this year’s program a success,” said Dick Morey, league director.

All the participants received framed certificates.
