Dowagiac swept by Paw Paw

PAW PAW — The Dowagiac baseball team wrapped up Wolverine Conference play with a doubleheader loss to host Paw Paw Tuesday.

The Redskins won the opening 7-0 and then took the nightcap 14-4 in five innings.

Brett Scanlon pitched six innings and took the loss in the opener for the Chieftains.

Logan Pellow, Matt Smith, Garrett Stark and Brody Froehlich collected Dowagiac’s four hits.

Chris Lyons struck out four to earn the win for the Redskins. Francisco Posada had a triple for Paw Paw.

The Chieftains finished with five hits in the second game, including a double by Scanlon, who also drove in two runs. Froehlich added a pair of hits.
