Residential builders’ safety class offered

Southwestern Michigan College is offering a three-hour class on code, safety and law for licensed residential builders from 6 to 9:20 p.m. May 24. The class will be held in the Jan and A.C. Kairis Building, Room 523 on the Dowagiac campus. Cost is $55.

The class, which is a continuing competency course approved by the state of Michigan, fulfills the Residential Builders License requirements.

In this non-credit course, students will demonstrate an understanding of the Residential Building Code updates; learn about construction safety as defined by the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration; and gain an understanding of legal documentation required for Michigan Residential Builders.
