SOUTH HAVEN — Time is running out on defending Wolverine Conference golf champion Dowagiac.

The Chieftains finished third at the South Haven jamboree Friday and it now five points behind league-leading Otsego.

The Bulldogs won the jamboree at HawksHead with a score of 164. Vicksburg was second with 165 and Dowagiac third with 174.

Otsego now has 58 points, three better than Vicksburg (55) and eight better than the Chieftains (50).

Allegan’s Ryan Pinnell earned medalist honors with a 37.

Dowagiac’s Jordan Juday shot 39.
