Penn crash injures two

Two Cassopolis residents were injured in a traffic accident Wednesday morning in Penn Township.
Cass County Sheriff Joseph M Underwood Jr. is reporting that at 7:12 a.m., Cass County deputies handled a two-vehicle traffic crash at Decatur Road and Fox Street in Penn Township.
Upon investigation of the crash, it was determined that a vehicle being driven by a Tammy Abiney, 49, failed to yield while leaving Maple Grove Trailer Park. Abiney pulled directly into the path of a northbound vehicle being driven by Debra Barnum, 53.
Barnum was injured in the crash and was transported to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac by Life Care Ambulance Service.
Also injured was the front seat passenger in the Abiney vehicle. Eugene Storm, 53, was transported to Borgess Lee memorial Hospital by Pride Care Ambulance Service.
Seat belts were used and alcohol was not a factor.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Penn Township Fire Department.
