Edwardsburg suffers split

A six-run seventh inning kept the Edwardsburg softball team from a sweep of visiting Elkhart Memorial Tuesday.

The Eddies led 4-2 heading into the top of the seventh inning, but could not maintain the lead as the Chargers rallied for an 8-4 victory.

Edwardsburg rebounded to take the nightcap, 4-1 in six innings.

In the opener, Kaley Frank and MacKenzie Creed both doubled for the Eddies.

Andrea LaPlace took the loss.

Jill Blough tossed a two-hitter for Edwardsburg in the second game.

Teryn Williams, LaPlace, Frank, Blough and Creed all singled. LaPlace, Frank and Blough also drove in a run.
