The Dowagiac JV baseball team swept a pair of games from visiting Lake Michigan Catholic Monday.

The Chieftains defeated the Lakers 15-9 and 18-0 in three innings.

Daquan Brooks (2-0) struck out seven as he went the distance in the opener.

Aubrey Huston, Brooks and Victor Halcomb all had three hits for Dowagiac. Brooks and Halcomb both doubled and combined for four RBIs. Huston had a pair of RBIs.

The Chieftains also got two hits and two RBIs from Jacob Helmuth, Zach Williams and Austin Jackson. Logan Polomcak doubled and drove in a run.

Zach Williams and Kenny Williams combined on a one-hitter for Dowagiac in the nightcap.

Josh Richard was 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs. Zach Williams went 2-for-2 with three RBIs, while Brooks and Kenny Sanchez both doubled and drove in a run.

Halcomb was 1-of-r1 with three RBIs.
