NEW BUFFALO — The Pokagon Fund hosts an open house Thursday to unveil its 2011 annual report. The community is invited to The Pokagon Fund offices at 821 E. Buffalo from 4 to 6 p.m. to receive a copy of the annual report and to meet three grantees featured in the report: Three Oaks Community Gardens, New Buffalo Summer Camp and the Lions Club’s Vision Program.
“The annual report is our way of acknowledging the amazing projects and programs that our grantees undertake every year,” Executive Director Mary Dunbar said.
“In fiscal year 2011, we awarded $2,591,313 in grant funding — the largest amount since our inception in 2007. That dollar figure represents a great deal of initiative on the part of our grantees as they provide enormous benefit to the people of this area. The report is titled ‘Lending a Hand’ to honor the actions and results of neighbors helping neighbors. We hope everyone will come out to celebrate the good work of all our grantees.”
