Dowagiac District Library hosts an informational seminar about all the college savings options available to parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and everyone else from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 3.
The college savings plan offers Michigan taxpayers an income tax deduction on contributions and tax-free growth on earnings when the proceeds are used to pay for college expenses.
The savings plan can be used for any eligible college, university or trade school in the nation.
Tony Haddad, who represents the Michigan Department of the Treasury’s college savings plans, will present the tools, resources and choices available to Michigan residents.
