Two injured in Jefferson Twp. crash

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Jefferson Township early this morning.
Cass County Sheriff Joseph Underwood reports that at 7:13 a.m., deputies responded to a two vehicle head-on crash with injuries. Upon investigation, deputies found that a vehicle being driven by a Brian Cooper, 33, from Cassopolis, was traveling to fast for the road conditions when the driver lost control, crossing the centerline and hitting a southbound vehicle head-on. Cooper was transported to Lake land Hospital in Niles.
The southbound vehicle was driven by Mark Randal, 41, from South Bend. Randall was injured but refused medical treatment.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Life Care Ambulance Service and the Cassopolis Fire Department.
Seat belts were used and alcohol was not a factor.
