Lillian (Waswick) Vatroba, 94, of Cassopolis, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital, Dowagiac.
She was born April 20, 1917, in Manistee to Anna (Siembab) Waswick. She never knew her father who passed away shortly after her birth.
She married Frank J. Vatroba on Aug. 2, 1938, in Highland Park. He preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1972. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Adolph Waswick, and one sister, Fannie Williams.
She enjoyed traveling, cooking and painting, and loved her flower garden. Of all of the things with which she was involved, she was best known for her involvement with Bible education work and her concern for people.
Lillian is survived by one son, Frank “Tom” Vatroba, and his wife, Karen Vatroba, of Coloma.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. for a service at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 23247 Hospital St., Cassopolis, with Gabe James officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service.
The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Cassopolis Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 23247 Hospital St., Cassopolis, MI 49031, or donor’s choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Connelly Chapel, Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis.
