Something to talk about

Cyndi Sine and Kathleen Cain don’t believe women should have to talk about their sexuality only in hushed voices or behind locked doors.

In fact, they advocate for women to embrace their self-confidence, body image and sexuality — and they even named their business after it.

Sine, owner of the Kutters Unlimited salon, and Kathleen Cain, former owner of Miracle Child Care, were single mothers looking for some extra income and a way to have fun.

Cain has previous experience with a nationwide direct sales romance company, and Sine has business savvy from owning her salon. The two decided in November to combine their talents and start a romance company, Embrace.

The consultants sell numerous beauty, bath and intimacy products at parties, online and through their catalog. They purchase their products wholesale from various companies and sell them to clients through Embrace.

“We were trying to think of something everybody would be interested in,” Sine said.

“We actually want to empower women,” Cain said.

Sine and Cain said their business is a huge hit, and some women have already asked to be sales consultants.

“They love it,” Sine said. “It’s fun.”

Embrace is ideal for bridal showers and bachelorette, engagement, divorce, break-up, birthday and Valentine’s Day parties, they said. Private consultations are available.

Their products aren’t just “naughty” — they offer glow-in-the-dark bubble bath; a cupcake-scented body lotion; and a very popular heart-shaped massage mitt.

Cain and Sine said on average, women — and men, too — spend at least $80 to $100 per party, proof that Embrace has a good thing going in spite of the economy.

Sine said one study shows that sales of sex-related products are skyrocketing.

“In the next few years, it’s going to rival the smartphone,” she said.
