Phillip “Squirrel” Jones, 71, of Cassopolis died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 8, 1941, in South Bend to Travis and Grace (Cauffman) Jones.
He served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the DAV, Elkhart.
Phillip is survived by his daughter, Jackie (Scott) Best of Cassopolis; four grandchildren, Stephanie Cory of Mishawaka, Courtney Cory of Cassopolis, Matthew Cory of Elkhart and Lorin Best of Cassopolis; five great-grandchildren, Cole Mullirans, Alexis Mullirans, Klaire Yeager, Kavien Danzy and Kamellia Danzy; and one brother, Howard LeRoy (Sue) Jones of North Liberty, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends gathered for a service Saturday, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m. at Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 N. Broadway St., Cassopolis.  Full military honors were provided by members of the U.S. Army and the combined Honor Guards of the William E. Lozier VFW Post 10704 and the Efton James American Legion Post 206, Cassopolis.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Connelly Chapel, Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis.
