Diamond Lake Association Jan. 19 presented the Cass County Sheriff’s Office with a $1,506 check for a Hummingbird sonar device.
Marine Deputy Dan Siemeck, who accepted the donation at the Board of Commissioners meeting, said this is the first time the department has owned such a device to patrol 100 lakes countywide.
Dave Salela and President Carl Moraw of the Diamond Lake Association, presented Siemeck with a sonar device.
Sonar can locate a body or other object without having scuba divers search under water.
