Sister Lakes Elementary School will be able to replace “threadbare” media center carpet  with a $5,000 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant.
“We’re always looking for school improvement money. I looked into it last summer at the suggestion of Larry (Seurynck, Dowagiac Board of Education president) and submitted it and just received word (Monday),” Principal Gretchen Hart said.
Besides carpeting, Hart also hopes to air-condition the computer lab, which is in use all summer.
