NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The Notre Dame women’s soccer program has finalized the dates for its summer camps.

Led by 13-year Fighting Irish head coach and recently-named United States Under-23 Women’s National Team head coach Randy Waldrum, the Notre Dame Girls Soccer Camp once again will offer three sessions for girls ages 10 and older, with each camp focusing on player development, match strategy, teamwork and more during the four-day session.

Session I of the 2012 Notre Dame Girls Soccer Camp is scheduled for June 13-17, with Session II to take place July 13-17, and Session III July 18-22. All three camps will be held on the University of Notre Dame campus, with campers taking advantage of the school’s numerous facilities, including Alumni Stadium, the state-of-the-art soccer-specific home of the Fighting Irish, as well as the cutting-edge Haggar Fitness Center (located within the Guglielmino Athletics Complex) and the indoor Loftus Sports Center (which features FieldTurf and is used in case of inclement weather).

In addition to Waldrum, camp sessions will be directed by the members of the Fighting Irish coaching staff, including assistants Dawn Greathouse and Ken Nuber, and coordinator of soccer operations Jeannette Boudway. Collectively, this staff has led Notre Dame to a 78-15-6 record in the past four years, including the 2010 NCAA national championship, an NCAA national runner-up finish in 2008, and a berth in the NCAA College Cup national semifinals in 2009, not to mention three BIG EAST National Division titles and two BIG EAST Championship crowns in that span. They also have helped train five NSCAA All-Americans (including 2008 Hermann Trophy recipient Kerri Hanks and 2010 Honda Sports Award winner Melissa Henderson) and seven Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) draft picks during that time.

Other highly respected soccer coaches from around the country will join the Fighting Irish staff at this year’s Notre Dame Girls Soccer Camp, helping to create a top-class training curriculum designed for the serious player who wants to take her game to the next level. Along with competitive matches, camp participants will enjoy daily field training sessions, lectures and film breakdowns that will prepare them for a bright future, regardless of their age.
