A Washington D.C. special interest group has launched a 30-second television advertisement slamming U.S. Rep. Fred Upton.

The Club for Growth Action blasts Upton, R-Mich., for voting to bail out Wall Street, supporting earmark spending, such as the Alaska bridge, and raising the debt limit.

According to a recent press release, the group is releasing the ad to “inform the public about the voting records of members of Congress.”

“Michigan can do better than a Congressman who has consistently voted to balloon the size of our already bloated government,” said Club for Growth President Chris Chocola. “After 25 years of Fred Upton and his liberal policies, it’s time for a change.”

The Club for Growth hasn’t made an official endorsement for Michigan’s 6th Congressional District, but it met with Republican Jack Hoogendyk in November. Hoogendyk ran against Upton in the 2010 primary but hasn’t committed to running in 2012 yet.
