The Bonine House and Underground Railroad Society of Cass County in Vandalia have adopted a program with Harding’s Supermarkets and Gordon’s Food Service called E-Script Community Cards.
The cards are a rebate program where shoppers may use the card every time they shop, and a portion totaling 4 percent from Harding’s and totaling up to 10 percent from Gordon’s will go toward the establishment.
The Bonine House is located on the corner of Penn and Calvin Center Road. The Underground Railroad Society is restoring the house. The house will be used as a community events center, education center, horse and carriage house and museum.
Donations from the community for the Bonine House are also used to restore the carriage house.
The E-Script cards are a free way to donate and everyone can help to be a part in the restoration.
When looking up a card at Harding’s, call the number and activate the card. Tell the representative it is for the Underground Railroad Society. Use the card when shopping at Harding’s or Gordon’s.
