The Niles Ring Lardner seventh grade boys’ basketball team defeated Buchanan 37-22 Wednesday night.

The Vikings improved to 8-1 with the victory.

Nine players reached the scoring column against the Bucks, led by Alex Harpenau’s eight points. Hunter Slaughter added seven and Bryce Lake six.

Jacob Hamm finished with five points and Austan Curran four. Dawson Clemens led Ring Lardner with four steals.

The Vikings return to action Monday against visiting St. Joseph.

Eighth grade

A 20-4 scoring advantage in the opening half led the Ring Lardner eighth grade boys’ basketball team to a 34-16 victory over Buchanan Wednesday night.

Joe Avance led the Vikings with nine points and three steals. Ben Evans and Tyler Phillips each netted six points, with Jacob Ganus adding five points.

The Vikings will play their final home game Monday night against St. Joseph.
