Trey Nichols pleaded guilty to two charges Tuesday in connection to the alleged sex video extortion scandal.

Trey Nichols, one of the five Niles teenagers accused of plotting a sex video extortion scandal, has taken a plea deal.

Nichols pleaded guilty to two charges Tuesday — photographing or capturing images of unclothed persons, a five-year felony, and assault with intent to commit sexual penetration, a 10-year felony.

The other charges have been dropped as part of the deal, according to Berrien County Assistant Prosecutor Steve Pierangeli. Nichols had been originally charged with 11 counts, including first degree criminal sexual conduct, which holds a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Nichols will be sentenced Jan. 12

Nichols, and his co-defendants, are accused of secretly videotaping a then 17-year-old girl having sex with one of them and threatening to post the video on Facebook unless she performed sex acts on them.

Martise Washington was found guilty on all seven charges against him, while Leon Murphy and Parnell Martin have also reached plea deals.

Martell Miller is slated to go to trial next Tuesday.
