Bean bag tourney back for Blues, Brews & BBQ

The 4th Annual Blues, Brews & BBQ will be held at the John E. N. Howard Bandshell on Saturday Sept. 24 from noon to 6 p.m. This year’s festivities will again include the Extreme Bean Bag Tournament on Lake Boulevard, next to the Veranda at the Whitcomb.
Three regional blues-oriented bands are slated to perform:
• 12:30 to 2 p.m. — Seventh Son, www.reverbnation.com/seventhsonbluesband
• 2:30 to 4 p.m. — Bryan Michael Fischer Band, www.bmfband.com/The_BMF_Band/Welcome.html
• 4:30 to 6 p.m. — Elwood Splinters Blues Band, www.elwoodsplintersbluesband.com/4436.html
Local barbecue from Lark’s and Charlie’s Piggin’ n Grinnin’ will be available for purchase. There is no cover charge but guests must be 21 or older to enter the beer garden. Family seating is available in the bleachers adjacent to the bandshell.
The Extreme Bean Bag Tournament (cornhole) will also take place starting at noon along Lake Boulevard next to the Veranda at the Whitcomb. Teams of two will play in a double-elimination style tournament. Team entries are $10 and must be pre-paid. Day of payment and/or registration is $20. Prizes will be award to the first place team ($150 and two overnight stays in a local hotel; off-season only); second place team ($100); and third place team ($75).
