Beatrice B. Hodges, 85, of Jones, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011 at her home.

She was born Nov. 8, 1925 in Nappanee, Ind. to Gideon and Lula (Robinson) Yoder. She married Wayne Leroy Hodges on Nov. 27, 1947 in Vandalia. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2005.

Wayne and Beatrice were also preceded in death by their 4-day-old son, Wayne Lewis Hodges. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lilly Kirkwood.

She was a long-time member of Victory Tabernacle in Dowagiac and played piano there for many years. Although Bea held various jobs before having children, her main focus in life was always her family. Bea was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.

Beatrice is survived by two daughters, Waneta Hodges of Kalamazoo and Jeanette (John) Lymburner of Lakeville, Ind.; three granddaughters, Abigail, Elisabeth and Tabitha; one grandson, Josiah; five sisters, Helen Hodges of Kenosha, Wis., Marie Hunsberger of Decatur, Florence Weatherley of Georgia, Catherine Smith of Melbourne, Fla. and Ruth Spangler of Niles; and three brothers, Leonard Yoder of Albuquerque, N.M., Raymond Yoder of Wisconsin and David Yoder of Dowagiac.

Family and friends will gather Friday, Sept. 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway St., Cassopolis.

Services will be Saturday, Sept. 3 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Poe Cemetery, Newberg Township.
