Doris Virginia Ruhl, 92, of Edwardsburg, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011 at her home.

She was born Aug. 15, 1919 in Cass County to Charles and Katie (Bowers) Brouse. She married Edwin Henry Ruhl on Jan. 8, 1949 in Mason Township.

He preceded her in death on June 18, 1993. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Brouse.

She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Cass County and was a member of Mason Township Baptist Church.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Darlene Kay Ruhl of Edwardsburg; two brothers, Merle D. Brouse of Summersville, West Virginia and Vernon L. Brouse of Cassopolis; and a sister-in-law, Jean Brouse of Bakersfield, Calif.

Family and friends gathered on Tuesday, Aug. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis. A service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Mason Township Baptist Church, 20109 Mason St., Cassopolis. Interment followed in Kessington Cemetery, Cass County.
