Edwardsburg wins district crown

Edwardsburg captured the Indiana District 15 Little League district title Saturday with a 16-5 victory over Osolo Little League.

Megan Monaghan struck out six and scattered five hits to pick up the victory.

The All-Stars banged out 13 hits in the contest, led by Jenna Stoneburner’s three and two RBIs. Edwardsburg also got a single, a triple and three RBIs from Lila Blough and two singles, two doubles and two RBIs from Miranda Woodill.

Emily Dowden contributed a single and two RBIs.

Edwardsburg began pool play in the Indiana Little League State Tournament today in Indianapolis.

The All-Stars faced Southport Little League on Wednesday and then took on the District 6 champion today at 8 p.m.

The final game of pool play will be against District 5 on Friday at 8 p.m.
