Published 10:26 pm Thursday, June 23, 2011
Author/historian Kit Lane of Saugatuck will present the program “The St. Joseph” on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at The History Center in Berrien Springs.
The program is based on Lane’s book, “The St. Joseph,” the fourth in her “Rivers of Michigan Series.” Other rivers in the series include the Raisin, Grand and Kalamazoo rivers. Her book on the St. Joseph offers a comprehensive history of the river and its use from the colonial period of the 17th century up to the present time. Lane will autograph copies of her book following the program.
The History Center’s summer evening program series returns this year through a grant from the Berrien Springs-Eau Claire Rotary Club and Indiana Michigan Power. Programs will run every Thursday evening through July 28.
The program will be held at the History Center at Courthouse Square (1839 Courthouse Museum) at 313 North Cass St., Berrien Springs.
“The St. Joseph” is the second in the History Center’s annual “Thursdays at Courthouse Square” series of six programs. Admission is free.
