INDIANAPOLIS – A misstep in the pits erased all the progress that Tony Kanaan had made in the race. After moving into the top 10 following his 22nd place start, Kanaan’s KV Racing Technology’s team had a very slow pit stop that dropped him deep in the field.

Once again, Kanaan began his match back toward the front as he had moved up to 17th at lap 88. He had been as high as seventh place before the pit issues.

Kanaan had moved up to 12th as the race neared the halfway point.

Dario Franchitti was the leader at lap 99 before he headed to the pits just as James Hinchliffe smacked the all.

The top five at lap 100 were JR Hildebrand, Bertrand Baquette, Danica Patrick, Ryan Briscoe and Vitor Meira.

There were 25 cars on the lead lap at the halfway point with Ana Beartriz remaining the only car one lap down. There were seven cars two or more laps behind the leaders.

Following the pit stops, Franchitti moved back to the lead as the field got set to restart on lap 108.
