The Brandywine tennis team won three out of four doubles flights to force a tie with visiting Edwardsburg Tuesday afternoon in a battle of Lakeland Conference unbeatens.

The Eddies (5-1-1, 4-0-1 Lakeland) conversely took three out of the four singles flights.

Brandywine’s lone victory in singles came when Jessica Blank won in three sets over Hayley Jones 6-3, 6-7 and 6-3.

“Just a great job by Jessica Blank as hers was the last match on and their third set took one hour and she finally won on her fourth match point to give us the tie,” Brandywine coach Joe Marazita said. “Both teams played well and competed hard and I am very proud of our effort.”

Edwardsburg’s lone win in doubles came in the fourth flight when Madison Hatkevich and Andrea Wagoner defeated Taylor Mattiford and Alissa Gamble 7-5 and 6-4.
