Dr. Richard Beckermeyer, a Niles dentist, is hosting a free natural foods cooking class called “Tasty and Healthy — Mexican Style.”
Demonstrations will be led by Evelyn Kissinger, MS, RD, who will be teaching participants how to make tasty vegetarian dishes.
Several cooks will assist her in demonstrating their favorite Mexican recipes.
Participants will receive samples of the food, as well as recipes to take home.
Recipe demonstrator Sandy Smith says, “I make the Mexican lasagna for people who aren’t vegetarian and they can’t believe there’s no meat in it.”
Demonstrator Lety Goodson says, “Growing up in Mexico, our family ate Ricos Mexican tacos because we could afford the ingredients. Now I make them for fun and to serve to guests.”
Kissinger is a registered dietitian who has presented wellness programs, done consulting for health care centers and given group nutrition therapy since 1982.
She is passionate about helping people reach and maintain their lifestyle goals for vibrant health.
The class is a one-time evening event happening at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10 in Beckermeyer’s office at 123 Marmot.
Space is limited. For more information or to pre-register, call 683-6461.
