Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Friday in Volinia Township.

Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that at approximately 9:15 a.m. a personal injury three-vehicle traffic crash occurred on Marcellus Highway, west of Hathaway Road in Volinia Township, Cass County.

A vehicle driven by Fannie Mitchell, 71, of Decatur, attempted to pass a vehicle, failing to see an approaching vehicle driven by Ashley Stacks, 22, also from Decatur, and they crashed into each other.

The third vehicle, driven by Jessica Kelley, 19, of Berrien Center, struck the Stack vehicle.

Mitchell and Stacks were transported to Borgess Lee Hospital in Dowagiac for injuries sustained in the crash.

Assisting Cass County deputies were MSP White Pigeon, Wayne Township Fire Department and CEMS Ambulance.
