To celebrate the season and to help insure those in need have a healthier, warmer start to 2011, the staff of Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital and Borgess Lee Medical Group gave of their hearts to support the annual Harvest Food Drive, as well as the “12 Days of Christmas” Mitten Drive.

The food drive raised 350 pounds of food and $1,250, benefiting St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, First Christian Church-Feed My Sheep and ACTION (Area Churches Together in One Network) Ministry Center, a newly formed ministerial association. Along with supporting local food pantries, Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital also collected 283 mittens, gloves, scarves and other warm clothing items.

The winter clothing was divided for donation through Borgess Lee Medical Group-Pediatrics and Keeler Church of God Clothes Closet.
