An Edwardsburg teen was injured in a crash Dec. 15 when she lost control of her vehicle on an icy road.

Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that his deputies are investigating a personal injury traffic crash that occurred at approximately 4:34 p.m. in Lagrange Township, Cass County.

Kristin Curtis, 18, was traveling North on Oak Grove Road when she lost control on the icy road.

A southbound vehicle, driven by Brenton Tinkey, 22, from Ina, Ill. tried to avoid the collision by stearing to his right into a ditch.

The Curtis vehicle then crossed the center line, leaving the roadway to the left and collied with the Tinkey vehicle.

Both drivers were transported to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital by Coloma ambulances for injuries received in the crash.

The deputies were assisted by Cassopolis fire and Coloma emergency medical services personnel.

Saftey belts were used by both drivers and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
