Two arrested after drug bust

Detectives with the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team announce they have arrested two individuals involved in narcotics trafficking in the Village of Pokagon in Cass County.

At approximately 11 a.m. Friday, detectives with the drug enforcement team went to a residence in the 61000 block of Front Street in the Village of Pokagon to assist agents from the Michigan Department of Probation and Parole.

While assisting the parole and probation agent detectives located three subjects hiding in a bathroom. Also located in the bathroom was a large quantity of marijuana and prescription medication, as well as numerous digital scales and packaging materials.

Detectives arrested a 28-year-old local male resident for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of prescription medication with intent to deliver, maintaining a drug house as well as parole violation.

The second subject arrested was a 22-year-old female from St Ignace, Mich., arrested on the charges of frequenting a drug house and probation violation.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be sought.
