In the seventh minute, Ryne Nickel scored on a booming shot from just outside the penalty box for the early Cassopolis lead after an assist from Tanner Lennox.

Six minutes later Nickel scored again from the right side of the penalty area, this time assisted by Gavin Francis.

Cassopolis peppered the Patriots’ goal with multiple shots in the next fifteen minutes, many that were saved by the hardworking Grace goalie.

The Rangers completed their scoring nine minutes before halftime with a low hard shot from their striker Kyle Carpenter, following a nice passing sequence through the midfield.

In the second half the Patriots starting working harder in the midfield.

Within 10 minutes they broke free of the Cassopolis defense to send a great shot on goal that just missed.

Halfway through the period, Grace was able to avert the shutout.

Its striker forced his way down the right side and hit a low shot that just missed the outstretched legs of Cass’ goalie John Simpson.

Cassopolis played strong defensively for the remainder of the game and closed down any chances the Patriots tried to muster.
