Eddies go 4-1-1 at Hackett Invitational

The Edwardsburg varsity volleyball team lost once and tied once at the Kalamazoo Hackett Invitational on Saturday.
Gobles was the culprite in both cases.
The Eddies and Tigers split two games in pool play and then Gobles got the better of the Edwardsburg in tournament play, 21-14 and 21-14.
Meanwhile, Buchanan reached the semifinals of the tournament before being eliminated by Kalamazoo Christian in straight sets.

Edwardsburg falls to Lakeshore
STEVENSVILLE — A pairof shootout goals gave host Lakeshore a victory over Edwardsburg Monday night in a non-conference soccer match.
The two teams were tied at 2-2 at the end of regulation.

Cassopolis volleyball
The Cassopolis volleyball team was swept by visiting Grace Christian and White Pigeon Tuesday night.
Grace Christian defeated the Rangers 25-17, 25-10 and 25-11.
White Pigeon was a 25-13, 25-8 and 25-2 winner.
“Tonight was a learning experience and even though the scores didn’t show it the girls did improve from Saturday,” Cassopolis coach Brooke Brawley said. “Hopefully as the season progresses we will continue to grow.”
Cassopolis Invitational
Visiting New Buffalo rolled to the championship of the Cassopolis Invitational on Saturday.
The Bison went 8-0 in pool play and then swept Bangor and Michigan Lutheran in the semifinals and finals to claim the hardware.
Eau Claire and Michigan Lutheran both finished pool play at 6-2, while Bangor and River Valley were both 3-5.
Host Cassopolis and Benton Harbor both finished with identical 1-7 marks.
In the semifinals, Michigan Lutheran defeated Eau Claire 22-25, 25-22 and 15-1, while New Buffalo defeated Bangor 25-19 and 27-25.
In the finals, the Bison defeated Michigan Lutheran 25-17 and 25-22.
