The Cassopolis Police Department has reported a missing person in Cassopolis.

Charles Edward Wagner, a 43-year-old white male, is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds. He lives at the Graham Street apartment complex in Cassopolis.

Wagner never drives, but he walks around town. He is mentally impaired and very soft-spoken. He has been missing since July 4.

According to Cassopolis Village Police Chief Frank Williams, all the interviews in the investigation have led to “dead ends.”

If anyone has information about Charles Wagner, contact either the Cassopolis Police Department, (269) 445-8100, or the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, (269) 445-1205.

This is the second missing person case in a week in this area.

A 91-year-old woman who went missing last weekend from  the Brentwood Assisted Living Facility in Niles was found and reunited with her family, according to the Niles City Police Department.

Mary Schulz, 91, who had been believed to have left the Brentwood facility on South Third Street at approximately 4 p.m. Thursday, was found at 9:45 a.m. Saturday.

Schulz appeared to know or recognize the woman she left with, but did not sign out of the residence, Brentwood staff claimed.

Schulz was reportedly located in a dense wooded area off the 1200 block of South Third Street in Niles.

According to Capt. James Millin, Schulz’s family was notified and was with her Saturday.

The circumstances surrounded the event are still under investigation and Millin said detectives hoped to speak with Schulz Saturday.

Investigators are asking that anyone who may have observed her walking in the area of South Third Street (an elderly female utilizing a walker), to contact the Niles City Police Department at 683-1313.
