Two Niles residents have been charged following a drug bust at a house at 1619 North Fifth St.

Simeon Fox, 48, and Alicia Washington, 26, both of the above address, are lodged at the Berrien County Jail following the execution of a search warrant at their home Tuesday night.

Fox is charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver, second offense; possession of marijuana, second offense; maintaining a drug house, second offense; and valid misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear. Washington faces a charge of possession of marijuana, second offense.

According to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, the county narcotics unit, with the assistance of the county road patrol and the Niles City Police Department, executed a search warrant for illegal drugs at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

This search warrant execution was the result of a two-week investigation conducted by the Berrien County Sheriff Department’s Narcotics Unit after the Berrien County Sheriff Department’s Narcotics Unit had received several complaints from area citizens of suspected narcotic activity taking place at this residence.

At the time of the search warrant execution, the officers located Fox, Washington and two other adult subjects inside of the residence.

During a search of the residence, the officers located and seized $400 worth of crack cocaine, $50 worth of marijuana and other evidence of illegal narcotic trafficking.

As a result of this search warrant execution, Fox and Washington were lodged at the Berrien County Trial Courts on their above mentioned respective charges pending their arraignments in the Berrien County Trial Courts.

The other two adult subjects, who were inside of the residence at the time of the search warrant execution, were released with no criminal charges being sought against them.
