2 charged in drug house bust

Two California men are charged with drug crimes after a search warrant was executed at a Buchanan Township home Thursday morning.
James Stanley, 32, of Grass Valley, Calif. and Jose Luna, 25, of Nevada City, Calif. were arrested and taken to Berrien County jail on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver, second offense and maintaining a drug house, second offense.
The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit, with assistance from the department’s Road Patrol, executed a search warrant for illegal drugs at 12782 Red Bud Trail at about 9:50 a.m.
The officers located and arrested the suspects inside the residence.
During a search of the house, officers located and seized approximately $2,000 worth of marijuana as well as other pieces of evidence related to illegal narcotic trafficking.
Under the State of Michigan’s civil forfeiture law, officers also located and seized $3,116 cash.
The suspects’ arraignments are pending in Berrien County Trial Courts.
