Brandywine defeated by host Bangor

BANGOR – The visiting Brandywine boys’ basketball team was unable to keep pace with Bangor Tuesday night in non-conference action.

The Bobcats (5-13) stuck with the Vikings (13-5) for one quarter, but from there it was all Bangor.

The Vikings and Bobcats were knotted at 13 after the first quarter, but Bangor jumped out to a 33-21 halftime advantage and then turned on the jets in the second half.

The Vikings outscored the Bobcats 40-22 in the final 16 minutes of play to cruise to the victory.

Jimal Valentine led a balanced Bangor scoring attack with 17 points.

The Vikings also got 12 points from Chris Watkins and 10 points each from Andrew Johnson and Tyler Hamilton.

Brandywine was led by Joe Godfrey’s 11 points. The Bobcats also got 10 points from Lance Prescott and eight points each from Cody Udell and Austin Searles.

The Bobcats are back on the hardwood Friday night when they host Edwardsburg in a Lakeland Conference clash.
