Tanner Wayne Rachels, the son of Phil and Tami Rachels of Niles, will celebrate his first birthday Jan. 21.

Maternal grandparents are Debby Smith of Elkhart and the late Roger Craycraft. Paternal grandparents are Virginia Rachels of Mishawaka and David Rachels Sr. of Niles.

Great-grandparents are Helen McClain and the late Bill McClain of Florida and Parky Flanagan and the late Jack Craycraft of North Carolina.

Tanner has a 3-year-old brother, Carson.
