Dowagiac coaches Bryan Henry and Curtis Partee were honored by the Wolverine Conference Wednesday night at Western Michigan University.

Henry was named co-Coach of the Year in baseball after leading Dowagiac to a share of its first conference title in his inaugural season as head coach.

The Chieftains split the Wolverine Conference crown with Vicksburg; whose coach Brian Deal shared the honor with Henry.

Partee was honored as the girls’ tennis Coach of the Year. He was unable to attend the banquet at the Fetzer Center due to his taking part in the boys’ tennis banquet.

The Wolverine Conference also awarded three Distinguished Service Awards Wednesday night.

They went to the late Jan Groenland of Paw Paw, Pete Fager of Otsego and Jock Pirrone of Plainwell.
